Year Up Bay Area - Im present and goal oriented!!!

Goals, Goals, Goals!!!  In a day and age where it takes the most of your being to succeed in today’s economy, society has become obsessed with goals. I am in the Year Up, Inc. program here in the bay area and I am looking to accomplish some outstanding things and to be perfectly honest, I have already done that in some aspects. It is the main purpose of my enrollment in this progressive and advanced program. My approach to achieving goals is to use all of the resources that are at my disposal and think outside the box. I am in the L and D phase which is the learning and development phase. This is the phase of my learning that I am exposed to the corporate world and its expectations. I am also learning the skills I need to perform in a professional environment and not tank.

There were many motivations for me wanting to experience this opportunity as well as many fears. I have several instructors who all have varied techniques on how to help me reach the same goal which is being successful. Reaching my goals will mean to me striving beyond what I think is my best and taking others with me along the journey.What that means in more detail is that I want to be more successful in my education, financial status and in my personal life and inspire others to do the same. I have very ambitious expectations of what success means to me and what each goal will accomplish. I am really looking forward to the day where I feel that I am in complete control and I am very confident in the endeavors I pursue.

In the past, I have struggled in many areas of my life and have battled some traumatic situations and for the most part I have come out on top. I may have not always felt on top of the world, but my perspective has remained constant. My ambition is due to my deep desire to want to overcome the unthinkable and the impossible and thus I have so many goals in life that I would like to achieve. There are tangible things that I would like to attain. Being in this program gives me the leverage I need to motivate myself beyond my setbacks.

In my Business Communications class, I am learning to communicate in a professional manner and effectively speak to my audience by using the proper grammer and word structure. In my Professional Skills class, I am learning more in depth how to carry the right presence and dimeanor in the work place and respect the space of my colleagues, co-workers, and superiors. Lastly, in my Tech class (CNIT-100) I am learning the hard skills of software and the use of different applications so that I will be efficient using the industry standard.

Now that I am actively learning all of these things and using the feedback that I recieve, I have the formula to reach my goals. It is up to me now to take advantage of those resources and affect change in my professional altitude and advance my career. This opportunity will steer me in the right direction so that it will be more evident of the success I intended for my life which is the control I always wanted and dreamed of. I hope that once I have achieved my goals, I am able to help someone else accomplish the same thing!
